India Chinnenahalli Single Origin Espresso

Our India Chinnenahalli Espresso made from 100% Arabica beans comes from the Karnataka coffee region in southern India. This single origin espresso is reminiscent of molasses with its slight sweetness and has nutty to spicy notes.

Coffee growing in India can be traced back to 1670. If the legend is to be believed, a Sufi named Baba Budan is said to have come through the Yemeni port of Mocha on his pilgrimage to Mecca. The export of coffee was strictly forbidden at the time. So he stole seven beans from a coffee plant and smuggled them into India in his beard. He planted the coffee seeds in his garden in what is now the state of Karnataka.

The mountain slopes there are known for their volcanic rock and the diverse flora and fauna associated with it. Our coffee, for example, thrives at 1,370 meters above sea level in Chinnenahalli, the village of jewels. The plants are lovingly cared for there, the coffee cherries carefully selected and picked by hand.

The Arabica beans from this important coffee-growing region in India are famous for their nutty aroma. This is retained in our resealable, aluminum-free stand-up pouches down to the last cup. We always freshly roast our coffee and deliver it directly to you - on request as a whole bean or already ground coffee.
